We are one week out from Cookies 'n Convos!! Each month a new speaker talks briefly about what they do in aviation/aerospace and why they love it. The speaker then leads a Q&A session so that young people and their parents can learn more about each career field especially how to pursue each field as a personal career option! Per the event title, there will be snacks, and the whole family can stick around to participate in hands-on activities. Content is geared for school-aged kids, but all are welcome to attend! February's speaker is Audrey Baxcajay, an Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic and works as the Director of Operations at Double M Aviation at the Lakeland Linder International Airport. We are thrilled to announce Greg Harbaugh as the keynote speaker for the Teacher's Pre-Flight Experience at the 2024 SUN 'n FUN Aerospace Expo! The former astronaut of four STS missions was also the Manager of the EVA Project Office at NASA. After leaving NASA in 2001, Harbaugh started at SUN 'n FUN Fly-In, Inc. as the Vice President and Museum Director at the Florida Air Museum. After SUN 'n FUN, Harbaugh started at Sigma Chi Foundation as the President and CEO. In the present day, he is the Chairman and CEO of InnerSpace Consultants. Yesterday was the first lesson in the ACE Ground School! This new ground school for our ACE employees gives them the opportunity to prepare for their FAA written test or to expand their knowledge of aviation in general over the course of the next few weeks.
