Event Description: Belk will host its bi-annual Kidfest in-store event Saturday, August 1, from noon – 3p.m. at its Citi Centre location in Winter Haven. The event includes runway fashion shows featuring local children as models wearing Belk’s latest fashion trends and styles for kids. Other activities and entertainment will include refreshments, music, games, and our Model Search signup! Fellow chamber members Excell Gymnastics, Philly Pretzel, Pelican Snowballs and Chick fil A will be at the event as vendors. Parents and legal guardians interested in having their children ages 3-13 participate as models in the Kidfest fashion show should visit the Citi Centre store in Winter Haven by Friday, July 31 to register and obtain more information. Participating kids will receive an additional 20% off any purchase in the kids department on already discounted prices, just in time for back to school. Parents and legal guardians can also enter their aspiring kid models to win a Model Search contest at the August 1 Kidfest event by submitting a favorite photo of their child (ages 5-10). Two winners, one boy and one girl, will be selected from among all entries received company-wide by Belk and Directions, a national modeling agency, with the opportunity to be in a Belk catalog. Each child winner (and one parent or legal guardian) will receive a 3-day, 2-night trip to a selected U.S. city where the child will participate in a Belk Catalog photo shoot. Each winning child will also receive $400 in spending money and a $500 Belk children’s wardrobe. Model Search contestants must submit their application and favorite photo at the Belk Citi Centre store on Saturday, August 1 by 3pm.
